Della at 1 year!

Derek's huge success!

As you may have heard, Derek remodeled our downstairs 1/2 bathroom. He laid the tile by himself and hung all the wainscoating and even put crown moulding up, all by himself. He watched videos on youtube from Lowe's and Home Depot to learn how to do all this great stuff and here are the pictures of the results. The lighting + flash makes the color look funny but the color is very beautiful in real life.

Here are a few photos from the past couple of weeks with Della. Now that she is walking she is a busy girl!

Our new vacuum cleaner

Dutch has found the benefit of having a little sister, finally. She just so happens to "accidentally" drop food on the floor just to watch him snatch it up. He is always sure to be close by when Della eats as he is now fully aware it is not all going to make it into her mouth. She thinks it is hilarious.

Hello?

So Della is now catching on to "talking" on the phone. Any item that she has that is about the size of a phone, she'll hold to her ear and say "ello". It's so funny to watch, especially when our phone rings and before we pick it up, she'll bring her toy or just her hand to her ear to answer.
Also, it is official! Della is walking. She took 8 steps on her own today and does 3-4 pretty well. She is still much faster crawling so that seems to be her preferred mode of transportation but when she is brave, she steps out.

One small step...

So watch closely in this video - Della takes a tiny step before falling on her bum :) Maybe I'm imagining it but soon enough she'll be walking. The picture is of her checking out herself in the mirror that Derek brought home from his office. She is so glad to have another friend here.
